The STIHL AP 500 S is the flagship battery in STIHL’s professional AP System, engineered for users who require the longest possible runtimes and uncompromising performance. With a high capacity of 36V and 8.8 Ah, it provides an impressive 337 Wh of energy, making it the most powerful and highest-capacity battery in the AP range. This ensures that demanding tools can operate for extended periods without interruption.
At the heart of the AP 500 S is innovative power laminate technology, which doubles the number of potential charging cycles compared to conventional lithium-ion cells. This significantly extends the battery’s service life, with STIHL estimating a lifespan of close to 10 years based on typical professional usage (approx. 253 charging cycles per year). Furthermore, an intelligent battery management system ensures a constant power output throughout the discharge cycle, so performance never fades as the battery level drops.
A unique Power Boost function allows the battery, when paired with compatible tools, to deliver a temporary peak power of up to 3.5 kW for the most challenging tasks. For year-round reliability, the battery is IPX4 certified for all-weather use and includes a cold start feature that warms the cells in a controlled manner, allowing it to function effectively in temperatures as low as -20° Celsius.
The AP 500 S comes equipped with the latest version of STIHL Connected. This built-in functionality allows the battery to record and transmit crucial data, such as total discharge time and the number of charge cycles. This information is accessible via the STIHL Connected App, providing professional users and fleet managers with a powerful tool for monitoring usage and managing their equipment inventory efficiently.
Designed for versatility, the AP 500 S is compatible with the vast majority of tools within the STIHL AP System. It features four clear LEDs to display the current charge level at a glance. For recharging, it is compatible with the AL 101, AL 301, AL 301-4, and AL 501 charger units.
