The STIHL HLA 140 B is a powerful and lightweight cordless long-reach hedge trimmer, designed for professional landscapers and gardeners tackling tall and wide hedges in noise-sensitive areas.
The STIHL HLA 140 is a high-performance cordless long-reach hedge trimmer from the STIHL AP battery system, specifically engineered for professional landscapers, gardeners, and municipal maintenance teams. It is perfectly suited for pruning, trimming, and maintaining tall and wide hedges, shrubs, and bushes. Its lightweight design, low noise output, and minimal vibrations make it ideal for extended periods of use, especially in noise-sensitive environments like parks, hospitals, and residential areas.
Powered by a 36V lithium-ion battery, the HLA 140 B boasts an efficient EC motor capable of accelerating the blades up to 4,000 rpm for a clean, precise cut. An ergonomic control handle allows the operator to select from three speed levels (3,200, 3,600, and 4,000 rpm) to match the cutting performance to the task at hand. The intelligent design ensures excellent balance, reducing operator fatigue, and is comfortable for both left- and right-handed users.
With a total length of 245 cm, this long-reach hedge trimmer makes light work of even the most challenging hedges. The 60 cm (24″) laser-cut, double-sided, diamond-ground blades are friction-optimised for high cutting performance and extended battery life. The cutter head can be adjusted by up to 145°, allowing for easy cutting of hedge tops, sides, and ground cover. Should the blades jam on a thick branch, an anti-lock feature automatically reverses their movement when the trigger is released, freeing the tool.
For convenience, the head of the hedge trimmer folds flat, reducing the total length to 188 cm for easy storage and transport. The tool is also IPX4 rated, certifying it for use in rainy and wet conditions.
Please note: This is a tool-only model. Battery and charger are sold separately. The HLA 140 B is part of the professional STIHL AP System. The recommended AP 30 S battery provides an excellent balance and a working time of up to 130 minutes.
