The STIHL HTA 160 is a battery-powered telescopic pole pruner designed specifically for professionals in forestry, landscaping, and orchard management. Capable of pruning, thinning, and maintaining branches up to 20cm in diameter, it combines high power with the convenience of cordless operation. Its low noise emissions make it an excellent choice for work in noise-sensitive locations such as hospitals, schools, and residential estates.
Powered by STIHL’s AP System of lithium-ion batteries, the HTA 160 features a high-performance EC motor paired with a lightweight yet robust magnesium transmission. This combination ensures consistent cutting power and long-term durability. For maximum cutting performance, it comes fitted as standard with a 3/8” P Picco Micro 3 (PM3) chain on a 12-inch bar. It can also be equipped with a 1/4” P Picco Micro 3 (PM3) chain, which is particularly suited for maintaining fruit trees.
The standout feature of the HTA 160 is its professional-grade telescopic shaft, which can be quickly adjusted from 285 cm to a maximum length of 405 cm. The square tube design provides exceptional rigidity even when fully extended, allowing for precise and accurate cuts at height. The low weight of the cutting head enhances manoeuvrability between cuts, reducing operator fatigue. Practical features include a sturdy branch hook for gripping and removing loose cuttings, and a control handle with an LED display for easy monitoring of the tool’s status.
Durability is built-in, with a standard protective foot to prevent the motor casing from contacting the ground and a metal mesh air filter that ensures optimal engine cooling for a long service life. The HTA 160 is also prepared for modern fleet management with a mounting point for the STIHL Smart Connector 2 A on the power tool housing.
