STIHL ErgoStart is an easy-starting system that reduces the effort needed to pull the starter cord. An additional spring between the crankshaft and the starter cord means a smooth, slow pull is all that’s required, making the engine start reliably without sudden jolts of power.
The HS 56 C-E uses a STIHL 2-MIX engine, which requires a fuel mixture of petrol and high-quality 2-stroke engine oil at a ratio of 50:1. This is equivalent to 20ml of oil for every 1 litre of petrol. For optimal performance and engine longevity, using STIHL’s own HP Ultra 2-stroke oil is recommended.
The STIHL anti-vibration system uses buffer and spring elements to reduce the transmission of engine vibrations to the handles. This makes the hedge trimmer more comfortable to hold and significantly reduces operator fatigue, especially during longer periods of use.
