Equipped with a special shredder blade on the fan wheel, the SH 86 reduces garden waste at an impressive 14:1 ratio, compacting material neatly into the generous 45-litre collection bag. This significantly reduces the frequency of emptying, allowing you to work for longer without interruption. Features such as soft grip handles and an included harness ensure comfort and reduce operator fatigue during extended use.
At its heart is the STIHL 2-MIX engine, a highly power-efficient 2-stroke engine that reduces exhaust emissions and fuel consumption, lowering operating costs while delivering consistent high performance. It complies with the strict EU Stage V emissions directive. Starting is made quicker and easier thanks to the manual fuel pump, which primes the system, and STIHL ElastoStart technology.
For comfortable handling, the control switch can be locked in any position between idling and full power, which is particularly helpful for longer periods of use. The throttle trigger allows for infinitely variable adjustment of the blowing force, and the machine can be switched off with a simple thumb press on the stop button, remaining ready for immediate restart. The SH 86 uses a STIHL 2-MIX engine, which requires a mixture of petrol and 2-stroke engine oil. For optimal performance and engine longevity, STIHL recommends their own MotoMix® fuel. Purchasing 5 litres of MotoMix® with the machine from an authorised dealer can also extend the domestic warranty from 2 to 3 years.
STIHL’s anti-vibration system uses buffer and spring elements to significantly reduce the transmission of engine vibrations to the handle area. This makes the SH 86 more comfortable to hold and operate, reducing operator fatigue, especially during longer periods of use.
