The STIHL HLA 140 K-B is a high-performance cordless long-reach hedge trimmer specifically engineered for professional landscapers, gardeners, and municipal maintenance teams. This short-shaft model provides a total length of 214 cm, offering substantial reach for trimming tall and wide hedges, shrubs, and bushes while remaining highly manoeuvrable. Its low noise output and minimal vibrations make it perfectly suited for extended use in noise-sensitive areas such as residential estates, parks, and around public buildings.
At the core of the HLA 140 K-B is STIHL’s efficient EC motor, which delivers rapid blade acceleration and consistent power regardless of the battery’s charge level. The user can select from three speed levels (3,200, 3,600, and 4,000 rpm) via the ergonomic control handle, allowing for precise power management to suit the cutting conditions and maximise battery runtime. The 60 cm (24″) blades are laser-cut and diamond-ground, ensuring a sharp, clean cut every time. These double-sided, double-edged blades are friction-optimised for superior performance. Should a thick branch jam the cutters, an anti-lock feature automatically reverses the blade movement to free the tool.
STIHL has designed the HLA 140 K-B with the daily demands of professional work in mind. The cutter head can be adjusted by up to 145°, providing the flexibility to tackle hedge tops, sides, and awkward angles with ease. For transport and storage, the head folds flat, reducing the overall length to just 158 cm. A lightweight magnesium transmission keeps the tool’s weight down without compromising on durability, and the excellent balance reduces operator fatigue. With an IPX4 rating, this hedge trimmer is certified for use in rainy and wet conditions, ensuring it remains a reliable tool throughout the year. It is also compatible with the STIHL Smart Connector for efficient fleet management.
As part of the versatile STIHL AP battery system, the HLA 140 K-B offers impressive run times. Please note, this is a tool-only model and the battery and charger must be purchased separately. This allows professionals to use their existing AP System batteries or choose the best option for their needs. The recommended AP 300 battery provides excellent balance and a working time of up to 105 minutes.
