Ready-mixed 50:1 fuel for 2-stroke machinery
Aspen 2 Alkylate Petrol is premixed at a 50:1 ratio with premium, fully synthetic, biodegradable 2-stroke oil. The oil contains as much as 60% renewable content and is free from ash and solvents. As the fuel is already mixed, there is no need to measure and combine petrol and oil, avoiding the risk of getting the mix wrong.
Aspen 2 is suitable for chainsaws, clearing saws, hedge trimmers, strimmers, power cutters and other air-cooled, land-based 2-stroke engines. It can replace ordinary petrol in any brand of machine. Aspen states that machine suppliers should continue to honour warranties.
Storage and fuel characteristics
Aspen 2 has a stated storage life of 3–5 years, compared with 3–5 months for regular petrol—about ten times longer. This means machines can be stored over winter without emptying the tank and can still start.
It contains no ethanol. Ethanol in regular petrol attracts moisture, which can contribute to starting problems and engine failures. Aspen 2 is virtually free from benzene, aromatics, olefins, sulphur and solvents, and is virtually odourless, which helps reduce operator exposure to harmful exhaust.
Emissions and engine cleanliness
Aspen states that Aspen 2 is up to 99% cleaner than regular petrol in terms of hazardous hydrocarbons. It reduces the formation of ground-level ozone (smog) by about 40%.
The fuel helps keep spark plugs and the combustion chamber cleaner and leaves very little carbon deposit, which can help engines last longer.
