The STIHL RMA 248.3 T is a battery-powered push-along lawn mower designed specifically for homeowners with small to medium-sized lawns. As part of STIHL’s 2 Series cordless range, it offers a lightweight, quiet, and user-friendly mowing experience. Its robust sheet steel deck and 46cm (18″) cutting width make it a durable and effective choice for maintaining a pristine garden.
This model is a ‘tool only’ version, meaning the battery and charger are not included. It is compatible with all batteries in the STIHL AK System, with the AK 20 battery being the recommended choice for achieving a mowing coverage of up to 220 m² on a single charge. The powerhead conveniently features two battery slots, allowing for a quick switch to a spare battery to extend runtime without interruption.
The RMA 248.3 T provides exceptional flexibility with four different mowing modes available without the need for additional tools. Users can choose to either cut and collect with the 52-litre grass catcher box, cut and drop by removing the box, use the integrated side discharge flap, or mulch the clippings with the multi-blade and mulching attachment.
Operator comfort is central to its design. The innovative mono-handlebar allows for unrestricted access to the grass box for effortless removal and emptying, aided by a fill-level indicator that shows exactly when it’s time to empty. This sturdy handlebar is also height-adjustable for ergonomic operation and folds down for compact storage. Smooth-running wheels ensure excellent manoeuvrability and control across the lawn.
STIHL’s intelligent electronics ensure the mower delivers constant power, regardless of the battery’s charge level, preventing the performance drop often seen in other battery tools. The flow-optimised blades are engineered to cut grass with minimal air resistance, maximising the energy from the battery for longer working times. Furthermore, the mower is IPX4 certified for splashwater protection, making it reliable for use even in damp conditions.
