Ultimate All-Terrain Performance
The Segway Navimow X450E is the top model in the X4 range and is engineered for the most demanding British gardens. Its Xero-Turn™ All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system provides outstanding traction and stability. The front-wheel zero-turn steering switches between a true zero-turn and automotive-grade Ackermann steering to avoid tearing the turf during manoeuvres. Thanks to a balanced 5:5 centre of gravity, dual suspension and a patented Traction Control System (TCS), it handles slopes up to an 84% (40°) incline, clears vertical obstacles up to 7 cm, and adjusts wheel torque on the fly to stop it slipping on wet or low-traction lawns.
Intelligent Cutting with MowMentum™ Technology
The X450E features a wide 430 mm dual-disc deck equipped with 12 blades, powered by two 180W cutting motors. The cutting height adjusts between 20 mm and 95 mm. The deck floats over uneven ground to minimise scalping, and when the mower meets long or thick grass it automatically lifts the blades and takes it down in stages rather than trying to cut it in one pass and clogging. The Edgesense™ feature mows to within 5 cm of walls and fences, which cuts down the amount of strimming left to do.
Wire-Free Navigation with No Perimeter Wire
The Navimow X450E does away with a physical boundary wire entirely, using Segway’s EFLS™ NRTK Positioning system. Lifetime-free, tri-frequency Network RTK access comes as standard, so there’s no antenna to mount in the garden. This is backed up by 360° VSLAM (Visual Simultaneous Localisation and Mapping), triple panoramic cameras and multiple sensors, allowing it to map and navigate the garden with centimetre-level accuracy. GeoSketch™ Real-Scene Mapping produces a top-down photographic map of your garden, so you can draw and edit boundaries on your phone against what the lawn actually looks like.
Big Battery for Big Lawns
What sets the X450E apart from the rest of the X4 range is its 15 Ah battery. It runs for around 130 minutes and covers up to 1,300 m² on a single charge, then recharges in about 100 minutes. On a lawn of an acre or more, that means fewer trips back to the dock and the whole garden kept on top of within its schedule, rather than always chasing the far corner.
AI-Powered Obstacle Avoidance
The AI-Powered 360° VisionFence™ system recognises more than 200 types of obstacle within a 5-metre range and reroutes in around 0.1 seconds. Night Vision Sensing extends detection to 1.8 metres in low light, helping it pick out pets, toys, hoses and garden furniture. As with any robot mower, we’d still recommend running it during daylight only. Hedgehogs are most active from dusk onwards, and a daytime schedule is the simplest way to keep them safe.
Smart, Durable, and User-Friendly Design
The X450E supports up to 120 customisable zones, including no-go areas and individual schedules, all managed through the Navimow app. It’s rated at 68 dB(A) and carries an IP66 dustproof and waterproof rating, so it can be hosed clean. A built-in rain sensor sends it back to the dock when the weather turns, and a quad-layer security system means it can be located even when powered off. It also works with smart home voice assistants and receives over-the-air software updates.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Navimow X450E need a perimeter wire?
No. There’s no perimeter wire to lay, bury or repair. The X450E positions itself using Network RTK combined with 360° vision, and the boundaries and no-go zones are drawn in the Navimow app. On a garden this size that saves a great deal of installation work, and if you change a border later you simply redraw it on your phone. Network RTK also means you don’t need to put up an antenna. Segway does include a GNSS antenna in the box, which is worth having if your mobile signal is patchy, as it can be in rural parts of Warwickshire and the Cotswolds. We’ll check that on the site survey.
What’s the difference between the X420E, X430E and X450E?
Physically they’re the same machine: the same all-wheel drive, 84% slope capability, 43cm cutting deck and vision system. The difference is the battery, and so how much lawn each can keep on top of. The X420E is rated for up to 2,000 m², the X430E for up to 3,000 m² and the X450E for up to 5,000 m². Per charge, the X450E covers up to 1,300 m² against 675 m² for the X420E. If your lawn is well under 2,000 m², the bigger battery is money you don’t need to spend, and we’ll tell you so. You can see the rest of the range on our Segway Navimow page.
Is the NRTK positioning service free?
Yes. The Navimow X4 Series includes lifetime-free NRTK (Network Real-Time Kinematic) access, so there’s no subscription for the positioning the mower relies on. The mower also comes with a period of free 4G data for app control and tracking, after which it’s a small annual renewal. We’ll confirm the current terms with you when you order.
What kind of garden is the Navimow X450E designed for?
Large and complex lawns up to 5,000 m², or around an acre and a quarter. It’s at its best where there’s a lot of ground to cover and the terrain isn’t straightforward: banks, slopes up to 84% (40°), multiple lawn areas, and trees and beds to work around. Its obstacle detection lets it get on with the job in gardens that would defeat a basic robot mower.
Is it safe for hedgehogs and other wildlife?
The VisionFence™ cameras are designed to spot animals and steer around them, and the night vision helps in low light. No robot mower should be treated as wildlife-proof, though. Hedgehogs are most active from dusk to dawn, so we set every robot mower we install to run in daylight hours only. It costs you nothing in cutting time on a machine with this much capacity, and it’s the single most effective thing you can do.
Are there any working limitations to be aware of?
The mower is 61 cm wide, so it needs enough room to pass through gaps between lawn areas. Performance can also be affected where the mobile signal is very weak, on inclines steeper than 84%, or at obstacles taller than 7 cm. All three are things we look for on the site survey.
Does the Navimow X450E need professional installation?
You can set it up yourself, but on a garden big enough to need an X450E, professional installation is well worth it. Getting the charging station in the right place and the boundaries mapped accurately makes a real difference to how evenly the whole lawn gets cut. For customers in the Warwickshire area, we offer a free, no-obligation on-site survey to assess your lawn and plan the installation.
What optional accessories are available for the Navimow X450E?
The most popular addition is a mower garage for extra protection from sun and weather. Spare blades come in the box, and replacement Blade Assembly Plus packs are available for routine changes. We supply the Navimow accessory range, so tell us about your garden and we’ll advise what’s worth adding. Ask us about Navimow accessories.
