The cartridge system is what makes an Allett C-Range mower worth owning. One machine, and a set of cartridges that turn it into a scarifier, a verticutter, a brush or a rake whenever the lawn needs it. The catch is where all those cartridges live when they’re not in the mower. Stood in a corner of the shed they get knocked over, pick up damp off the floor and always seem to be behind whatever you’re trying to reach.

The C378 stand takes care of that. It holds three cartridges upright and off the ground, lined up where you can see them, so the right one is ready to go in when you want it. The cartridges shown in the product images are for illustration only and are not supplied with the stand.

Five minutes at the end of a job saves a lot of money later on.

• Brush the grass and soil off before the cartridge goes back on the stand, especially at the ends of the cylinder.
• Let it dry properly. Putting a wet cartridge away is how corrosion starts.
• Give the blades or tines a wipe of light oil or maintenance spray before it sits over winter.
• Get the cutting cylinder sharpened once the grass starts tearing instead of cutting cleanly. Our workshop regrinds and sets Allett cylinders, so give us a call when it’s due.
