The defining feature of the ‘TC-O’ model is its integrated oil sensor, which monitors the chain oil level and provides a clear warning on the LED display when it’s low, preventing damage and ensuring optimal lubrication. The saw features an intuitive electronic trigger system with a simple unlock button for straightforward activation. The top-handle LED display provides at-a-glance information on the saw’s operating status and the chain brake position, enhancing safety and control.
The MSA 220 TC-O boasts an excellent power-to-weight ratio, ensuring it remains comfortable to use even during extended periods of work. Its compact and perfectly balanced design is particularly noticeable when paired with the recommended AP 300 S battery, which effectively counterbalances the guide bar for effortless handling and reduced wrist strain. For secure handling in the treetop, a practical fold-out hook allows the tool to be attached to a suspension rope for hoisting, lowering, or securing.
Built for a long service life, the chainsaw includes an easy-to-clean fleece air filter that protects the engine components and electronics from fine dust and debris. Maintenance is simplified with features like side-mounted chain tensioning for quick adjustments, a tool-free oil tank cap, and a captive nut on the sprocket cover that cannot be lost during chain changes. The machine is fitted as standard with the 1.3mm 3/8” P PS3 saw chain and Light P04 guide bar for superior cutting performance.
As part of the professional STIHL AP System, the MSA 220 TC-O is IPX4 rated, making it robust enough for use in all weather conditions. For full performance, STIHL specifies the use of either the AP 300 S or AP 500 S battery. The AP 300 S is recommended for the best balance of power and weight.
