The Allett C-Range 6-bladed cutting cylinder designed as part of the versatile Allett quick-change cartridge system. This high-quality cassette allows you to adapt your Allett cylinder mower for different lawn conditions and desired finishes.
Performance in Various Conditions
While the blades of the 6-blade cutting cylinder are of the same superior quality as the 10-blade version, its design offers distinct advantages. A cylinder with fewer blades, such as this one, generally copes better with longer, thicker, or even damp grass. This is because there is more space between the blades for the clippings to pass through, reducing the chance of clogging and ensuring a clean cut.
The 6-blade quick-change cartridge features a cylinder and bottom blade made from hardened and ground steel, guaranteeing durability and a sharp, precise cut for a prolonged period.
Choosing the Right Cylinder for Your Lawn
The type of area you are cutting is the best indicator of which cylinder is most appropriate. For example, on a football pitch where grass growth can be longer, the 6-blade cylinder is more than sufficient. In contrast, for very fine turf like golf greens, where grass is kept extremely short (around a 3mm final cut), a 10-blade cylinder would be more suitable as it provides more cuts per metre.
