Greenfingers Garden Re-Leaf Day 2021
Hospice gardens for children and their families
Sims Garden Machinery is proud to be supporting Greenfingers – a charity dedicated to supporting children who spend time in UK hospices, by creating inspiring gardens for them and their families to relax in and benefit from.
The charity is driven by the belief that time spent outdoors, away from the bedside, can offer children with life-limiting conditions and their families a vital opportunity to benefit from fresh air and the natural environment. Greenfingers has created over 60 hospice gardens around the UK and have a waiting list of further hospices that need help now.
This spring, a team of Sims staff and customers are going head to head with a team from global garden tools manufacturer, STIHL, in a Minutes Mowed challenge in aid of Greenfingers’ Garden Re-Leaf Day – an annual nationwide event that raises funds and awareness for the work the charity does.
From Friday 19 March, our team will be trimming lawns of all shapes and sizes across Warwickshire. Staff and supporters of STIHL GB will be doing the same in gardens across the UK. Each team will be aiming to clock up at least 1,000 minutes of mow time by the end of May.
You can follow the #minutesmowed action on social media as it unfolds and watch the number of minutes mowed grow as they are recorded each week here [insert STIHL website url – being provided by Mon 15 March]
To help us raise funds for this year’s Garden Re-Leaf Day, please text ‘MOWFIVE’ to 70085 to donate £5 or ‘MOWTEN’ to donate £10 any time before the end of May (texts will cost £5 or £10 plus one standard rate message).
